The town of Austin was overrun with umbrellas today. Right by the Convention Center, I noted a block-long line of pedestrians walking together, looking at phones, videotaping or similar.
The most popular umbrella color - by a mile - was black, with navy as a close second, and red came next, yet intermittent. The major stragglers at the end were umbrellas with patterned fabric (didn't anyone get a Missoni?) and the always-appreciated transparent clear number.
It's a good day for a branded poncho. Saw some of these too in royal blue.
Also noted is some Chevy ride thing. Skinny hipsters pogoed to one of those as if it were an available cab. They talked to the driver who had some other destination to go to.
This morning, here's Chef with her newest pal, fresh in from Brooklyn. The plastic non-Chef on the right was a housewarming present. This house is warmed.
